In general the whole storyline was far-fetched and ridiculous in my opinion. Now as far as them dropping the Grace thing and never mentioning it again after Gaby sees a therapist and visits her hometown for closure, that's just common for the writers to do.dropped plots or dropped characters (like Kayla Scavo) never to be mentioned again once they're written off the show. But given how desperately he'd wanted to be a father the entire series, it seemed very out of character that the whole Grace thing didn't seem to affect him much at all. Perhaps if they'd gotten better advice, Carlos would have been more sympathetic and supportive during the entire thing. In part I blame the terrible therapist they saw and that awful advice "remove Grace from your life and pretend like she doesn't exist". That would emotionally traumatize anyone. I completely understand why he wanted to protect Juanita's feelings and Gaby was being extremely careless in that regard, but as a mother myself I can't imagine the pain Gabrielle felt through all of this.especially when she lost Grace (not to mention this was the fourth child she'd lost - first her miscarriage in S2, then the adopted baby Lily, the surrogate baby in S3, and finally Grace). If anything Carlos was the one who didn't seem too affected by it. She went through a lot of emotional turmoil when she lost Grace (what with the doll incident). In 2001, Gaby gave up her lavish life in NYC to move to. A former top-model turned trophy wife, Gaby married CEO Carlos Solis, who proposed after their third date. All things considered I think it was pretty realistic to say most people would NOT swap the child they've been loving and raising for 8(?) years.Īnd Gaby did not just move on. Gabrielle 'Gaby' Solis (ne Mrquez, previously Lang) is one of the main protagonists and titular characters of Desperate Housewives.
